VIRTUAL 2-DAY WORKSHOPS

These workshops include multiple tracks for Color Guard, Battery Percussion, Front Ensemble Percussion, and Leadership. Whether you want to improve your spinning, drumming, or leadership abilities – we have the staff ready to help you take your skills to the next level! Keep in mind that our leadership track isn’t meant ONLY for current section leaders, captains, or drum majors, but ALSO for those who aspire to become leaders. Featured instructors include Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, TJ Doucette (Color Guard Caption Head), Scott Johnson (Percussion Arranger/Caption Head), Brian Dinkel (Front Ensemble Arranger/Caption Head), Frank Troyka (System Blue Director of Education), Todd Ryan (Visual Caption Head), John Meehan and Dr. Chip Crotts (Brass Caption Heads), and many more.

You’ll also have an opportunity to meet and chat with members of the current Blue Devils leadership team across all sections. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask them for insider tips on how to become a member of the Blue Devils or how best to prepare for any upcoming audition.

VIRTUAL 1-DAY WORKSHOPS

These workshops include multiple tracks for Leadership, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion - Battery, Percussion - Front Ensemble, Color Guard, and Directors. This intensive 4.5-hour workshop is designed for all skill levels for students and educators. The day starts and ends with sessions with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, Senior Educational Advisor for System Blue. The other sessions led by the top educators in the world, including many System Blue & Blue Devil educational staff and Frank Troyka, Director of Education for System Blue. BONUS: there are bonus sessions for drum majors and educators on top of the jam-packed schedule.

MARCHING ARTS

Our education programs provide opportunities for students, educators, and fans alike to hone their performance, leadership, and teaching skills under the instruction of the finest educators in the marching arts. From intense multi-day skills events to instrument-specific clinics and master classes, participants are able to study in a focused and enriching environment that includes performing alongside the members of today’s top drum corps.

CONCERT BAND

System Blue now offers professional development workshops on fundamental instrumental pedagogy; rehearsal techniques; establishing a private lesson program; recruitment and retention; as well as student leadership mentorship. The workshops detail assessment and ensemble technique, as well as a comprehensive presentation on developing intonation awareness in young musicians.
